(The artist for the one I have is Katelyn Jones.) The interior front cover describes Denik’s mission, the back interior reaffirms it. The print quality of the cover design is good, and the artist is named on the back cover. The cover is soft and flexible while still providing the protection of a “hard” cover. And in addition to Denik’s respectable business practices and charitable work, the materials for the sketchbook are top notch. $13.99 MSRP is more than average for an A5-ish size sketchbook, and pricey for one with only 88 pages, but $7.00 isn’t terrible. Blick has the list price as $10.99 while selling them at $9.24, and Denik’s own website recently had most sketchbooks for half off, though that sale seems to be over. I bought this sketchbook at Barnes and Noble, whose online store currently lists them for $7.00, about half the MSRP. These stickers are from my childhood sticker collection that I found at my parent’s house over Xmas a few years ago, lol. This is extremely rare in mainstream stationary, but Denik doesn’t seem to be mainstream stationary. Most of the covers are designed by independent artists, who are named and linked clearly from the sketchbook listings on Denik’s site. Stickers from various artists, including Forever Softcore, Ains Yeager, and Oxygen Impulse. However, for a lesser and more affordable price, that much of pages is reasonable.The Denik hardcover sketchbook comes in a variety of cover designs, but somehow the one I found had to be inscribed with “Ideas + Such.” I guess this isn’t an inaccurate label, but I find most such declarations on sketchbooks and journals to be unnecessary and kind of dorky? Lame? I’ll get over myself though. What we think would have made this notebook perfect are more pages since it only has thirty pages. It’s also quite versatile as it can be used for multiple other purposes rather than just sketchings and jotting down notes. The writing surface is much smoother than some expensive notebooks out there. This sketchbook is about the size of regular student notebooks but because it is thin, it is much lighter to carry around. Whether in stores or online, you can purchase a bundle of these at a very low price. And the reason is that it is highly inexpensive. Not only is this ideal for architects, but it also works really good for students as well. ![]() If you want something where you can dump all your ideas and rough sketches immediately without thinking of using cheaper paper, this notebook will work great for you!Īlso, if you are a Fountain pen fan, you will be glad to know that this sketchbook receives Fountain pen ink marvelously. This one right here is a great example of an affordable, yet very high-quality notebook. And it will have given its full service before it deteriorates. But ideally, heavy work means using the sketchbook on a regular basis. You can also do light and precise sketchings on the ruled pages.Īlthough the sketchbook is perfect for heavy-duty work, it’s quality can deteriorate as time passes by. The purpose we have found that works really well is to transfer out ideas and rough sketches on the left and make notes about those ideas on the right. How you use this sketchbook is entirely up to you. This makes the sketchbook’s overall appearance classy. Even the inside name page is in smooth red velvet color. the inside pages are ruled and are slightly greyish in color. The white textured cover with a tiny red patch below makes this sketchbook stands out from the rest. It’s very comfortable working on this sketchbook because it lays down perfectly flat and does not keep closing itself like any other tight, hard-bound notebook.
